The Centers for Family Health Commitment to Your Health and Safety

For over 25 years, the Centers for Family Health have been caring for our community. Now more than ever, we want you to know it’s SAFE to come in for the care you need!

The health and safety of our patients, essential companions, physicians, staff and community is our number one priority. By closely monitoring industry and government guidance regarding the COVID-19 virus, including Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidelines and recommendations, we have implemented additional policies and procedures for sanitation, cleaning and clinic access, with an emphasis on prevention of virus transmission.

Visitor Initiative and Protocols

Mandatory Masks: All patients and essential companions who undergo screening and are granted access to our clinics and urgent care locations must wear a mask or cloth face covering.

Essential Companions Only: For the health and safety of our patients, physicians and staff, each Centers for Family Health patient is allowed a maximum of one essential companion to accompany them on their visit.

An essential companion is defined as a parent/guardian of a pediatric patient, a companion for a patient undergoing a procedure (during the procedure only), or a companion of a patient who is disabled.

No other companions or visitors are permitted in our clinic or urgent care locations at this time.

Mandatory COVID-19 Screening: All patients and essential companions are required to undergo a noninvasive, mandatory COVID-19 screening prior to entry into any of our clinic or urgent care locations.

Enhanced Cleaning of Public Areas

The frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of our public areas, waiting rooms and exam rooms at all our clinics and urgent care locations has been increased, with an emphasis on “high-touch” surfaces, including door handles, countertops, handrails, exam tables, waiting room table surfaces, keypads, chairs, etc.

Restrooms in our clinics and urgent care locations are sanitized every two hours, which includes wiping down and sanitizing counters, sinks, stalls and other “high-touch” areas.

Social Distancing

All appointments are currently being scheduled in a manner that allows for appropriate social distancing throughout our clinics. Waiting rooms and exam room layouts have also been optimized to maximize adherence to social distancing guidelines.

COVID-19 Patient Isolation

For the safety of our patients, physicians and staff members, all suspected or confirmed COVID-19 patients are screened and assessed, in separate designated areas not used by other patients or essential companions. In many cases, screening and evaluation of suspected COVID-19 patients takes place outside our clinic facilities.

Physicians and staff caring for suspected and/or confirmed COVID-19 patients follow strict infection prevention policies and procedures as outlined by the CDC. Additionally, they are closely monitored for symptoms and screened prior to each shift.

Physician and Staff Initiatives and Protocols

Mandatory COVID-19 Screening: For the safety of our patients, all physicians and staff at our Centers for Family Health, Urgent Care and all other outpatient facilities are required to undergo screening for cold or flu-like symptoms prior to reporting for work.

Physicians or staff members who exhibit symptoms or do not pass their mandatory screening are excused from their shift and required to comply with more extensive screening and/or clearance protocols through our Occupational Health Department before returning to work.

Mandatory Personal Protective Equipment: All physicians and staff are required to wear, at minimum, an aseptic mask when on location at any Centers for Family Health, Urgent Care or other outpatient clinic location.

Additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements for physicians and staff have been implemented in accordance with CDC guidelines and infection prevention protocols and are dependent upon level of patient contact as well as patient status. Extensive physician and staff training related to PPE is continuously provided as needed.

COVID-19 Staff Training: All Centers for Family Health staff, regardless of department or location, undergo mandatory COVID-19 training to educate them on symptom recognition, COVID-19 specific policies and procedures, and infection prevention strategies.
