Whether you consider the number of babies we deliver each year or our popularity among Ventura parents, we are the strong leader for birthing babies in Ventura County. Staffed by caring physicians and specially-trained nurses and support staff, our modern facility offers state-of-the-art care.

  • Excellent Specialists: Choosing an obstetrician is an important step in your maternity journey. With numerous experienced doctors specializing in obstetrics, we’ll help you find the perfect fit for your family. The hospital has the following specialists on staff, 24/7:
    • Obstetricians, including high-risk obstetricians
    • Anesthesiologists
    • Specialized nurses and medical technicians
    • A neonatologist in our NICU to care for newborns needed specialized care
    • Expert pediatricians in our health centers throughout Ventura County
  • A Beautiful, Modern Facility: We’ve devoted an entire floor to the health of mothers, babies, and children. The maternity wing features 11 private birthing suites with plenty of space for family members, scenic views of Ventura, and an abundance of natural light.   • Birth Plan: Your baby’s birth is a life changing event for you and your family. We want to do all we can to make it as special as possible. We encourage you to fill out a Birth Plan detailing your preferences regarding visitors, pain management, and more. Barring any health concerns for you or your baby, we will do all we can to follow your Birth Plan.
  • Baby Friendly Designation: Baby-Friendly USA recognizes Community Memorial Hospital – Ventura as a “Baby-Friendly Facility.” This is a global program sponsored by the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children’s Fund. As a Baby-Friendly hospital, we are held to the highest standards for mother/baby care practices related to infant feeding. Our caring staff is dedicated to helping you and your baby get off to the best start and assisting you to meet your feeding goal.
  • NICU: Our Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is staffed and equipped to provide the highest level of care to babies born with a critical illness or born prematurely. We have a neonatologist (a pediatrician specializing in the care of fragile newborns), on staff 24/7.
  • New Parent Resource Center: Our popular New Parent Resource Center is a resource for all your pregnancy and new parent educational needs, from classes and support groups to breastfeeding support and supplies.

This distinction recognizes our dedication to meeting the rigorous quality selection criteria for maternity care, while showing statistically significant differences in key clinical outcomes compared to our peers.
  • Excellence in Lactation Care Award, given by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners® (IBLCE®) and the International Lactation Consultant Association® (ILCA®)
  • Maternity Honor Role from the California Health and Human Services Agency. This designation is awarded to hospitals that meet or surpass the statewide target for reducing births via C-section in first-time patients with low-risk pregnancies.
